Private equity: what will be the key future value drivers going forward?
If asked to disclose the most successful investment type in their portfolio, we expect many family office investors would mention PE. This is borne out in the numbers, with the asset class significantly outperforming most others since 20071 (and a June 2023 Preqin report finding that PE had met or exceeded expectations for over 80% of institutional investors2). Higher rates, difficult exit markets, and a challenging growth environment mean that market conditions have changed. So where will investors find value in 2024 and beyond?
