Delivering better outcomes and financial confidence with Enplan
Established in 1871, NWF Group is a specialist distribution business operating in three markets, fuel, food and feed, across the UK.
The Challenge
The client required assistance with some legacy DB pension scheme issues and wanted a single pensions partner to meet the challenges head on, as well as to deliver an efficient, one-stop-shop solution going forward.
What we did
Having been appointed based on a long-standing advisory relationship, the priority was to move the scheme from a standard trustee board to a new, professional trustee governance model through our Enplan platform. Entrust, an independent trustee company, oversaw the management of the scheme, while Isio worked with them to deliver all key pensions services: administration, actuarial and investment in-house.
As a ‘big’ scheme service for smaller schemes, this unique partnership enabled Enplan to:
- Leverage Entrust’s legal expertise to identify urgent priorities
- Take a fresh, proactive approach to finding solutions for any remaining intractable, historical challenges
- Use the economies of scale of consolidation to supercharge investment buying power and drive down costs and fees
- Save the client management time – affording them the headroom to focus on other areas of the business
- Offer best-in-class Isio quality of service
The impact for the Scheme
With a new structure and governance model in place, NWF Group now has peace of mind knowing that their pension scheme is running efficiently and smoothly. And they have the financial confidence that their people will receive the correct benefits, which is the most important aspect after all.
“By moving the Group pension scheme into an arrangement with Enplan, we were able to streamline our scheme administration and costs whilst ensuring the scheme members were well looked after. Throughout the period we have had a pragmatic and productive relationship with the Enplan Trustee which has worked to the mutual benefit of the both the scheme members and the Group”
