1 July 2025: Isio, one of the fastest growing UK pensions, investments, employee benefits, and wealth advisory businesses, is marking one year since the public launch of its private markets liquidity platform, i-FLO. The platform was created to help institutional investors unlock liquidity from their private market holdings more efficiently than traditional secondary routes.

Since its launch in May 2024, i-FLO has been used by 14 clients across 17 funds, with almost £500 million in aggregate assets. This includes multiple clients who do not have Isio as the investment adviser, reflecting wider market demand for efficient secondary solutions. The platform has delivered strong pricing, particularly in direct lending, where high-quality mandates have achieved low discounts to NAV.

i-FLO was developed in response to rising investor demand for tailored liquidity solutions, particularly in areas such as private credit and infrastructure equity. The platform connects sellers directly with buyers through a more transparent, targeted process than typically seen via traditional brokers, offering lower fees and faster execution.

Over the past year, Isio has supported clients using i-FLO for a range of objectives, including de-risking transactions for pension schemes and managed redemption plans for investors. Isio has also provided support to secondary activity in other asset classes, including private equity and real estate, as well as help explore other types of liquidity options for schemes.

Interest in private market secondaries has continued to rise over the past 12 months, driven by factors such as rising yields, volatile public markets, and shifts in portfolio allocations caused by falling public market valuations. There has been substantial volatility in the market this year, and we expect this to drive a divergence in the outcome achieved by sellers, with buyers increasing focus on high-quality assets, although each deal remains highly case-specific.

Sarban Hoonjan, Private Markets Specialist, Isio: “Over the past year, we have observed a surge in the number of conversations around private market liquidity. Dramatic shifts in the macroeconomic environment have fundamentally altered investor’s time horizons, a trend that has created far more pressing liquidity needs than anticipated. Despite growing interest, widespread misunderstandings about secondary markets persist. We have found that having transparent dialogue with clients is key to achieving optimal outcomes. i-FLO addresses this need by offering managed liquidity solutions with innovative approaches to deliver tailored results.
