I enjoy having a varied role and have developed several specialisms over my career, all of which involve helping employers and trustees work collaboratively on holistic journey planning that brings together funding, investment strategy and covenant.

I currently lead Isio’s Member Options team having advised on introducing dozens of new options including some of the largest exercises carried out in recent years. When combined with the right support to help members make good decisions, new Member Options represent a real win-win providing flexibility for members and improving schemes’ funding.

I have implemented 10 Escrow arrangements in recent years. They are a fantastic way to balance competing employer and trustee objectives by providing insolvency security and contingent funding for schemes without unnecessary contributions being paid that may not be subsequently returned to sponsors e.g. when mitigating for corporate transactions.

I have recently enjoyed developing Isio’s approach for Purposeful Run On (PRO) . This is an exciting alternative destination where schemes invest beyond full funding on a buy-out basis to gradually share surpluses between members and sponsors over the medium to long-term.
