I’m Ben, a Director and Actuary at Isio. I have worked in pensions for over 15 years and for the last decade have specialised in the regulatory aspects of pension products and advice, particularly DB pension transfers. This covers suitability assessment, customer contact and remediation. I lead our Regulatory, Risk & Rectification team, helping advisory firms, legal advisers and consumers understand, manage and mitigate the costs and risks associated with poor quality pension advice.
I specialise in regulatory projects involving pensions products having project managed numerous Skilled Person reviews. I have led some of the largest DB pension transfer past business reviews in the market and have worked extensively with the FCA in this space. I led the team that supported the FCA in designing and implementing the new redress rules which came into effect from 1 April 2023.
I also regularly lead the delivery of engagements providing transaction support relating to past books of pension advice. This involves analysing the risk areas associated with past books, quantifying the scale of any potential contingent liability and developing strategies to address any risks identified.
Outside of work, you will find me playing/ watching almost any sport and spending time with my two young children.
