Are some members losing out?

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is front of mind for pension schemes and regulators, with growing expectations on trustees. Defined benefit schemes were designed in a different era and typically have rigid benefit structures which may not reflect the needs of a diverse membership. As a result some groups of members may systematically be getting poor value.

Members now expect more flexibility, and most schemes support this. But have schemes looked carefully through an EDI lens to give each member what they need and on fair terms?
