Professional trustee firms have had another busy year – both servicing existing clients with high levels of activity and managing the continued growth in appointments and teams.

There remain many trustee boards with a mixture of professional and lay trustees including member-nominated trustees – with perhaps tens of thousands of individuals involved across the industry. But with the growing burden of pension regulation and closure of defined benefit schemes, trustee boards are becoming increasingly professional and turning to commercial trustee firms for support.
